The landscape of the park is a unique experience and reflects the diversity of nature with its up to 400 meters high cliffs, caverns and caves and unusual rock formations.
The park entrance is just 2 km from the coast. The visitor center of the national park is located in the seaside resort Starigrad Paklenica. Here you have detailed information about the National Park and hiking maps. The deep canyons Velika and Mala Paklenica here form a direct access from the mountains to the sea. Within the park there is an over 150 km network of trails that allow both short hikes and multi-day trekking. In national park grow more than 800 plant species, of which 40 are endemic. Here live 82 species of butterflies, 200 species of birds, such as the number of protected serpent eagles and griffon vultures and numerous reptiles. Furthermore, the park also habitat for the protected brown bears, wild cats, wolves and lynxes.
